A community of HR enthusiasts.

This is our story.

At the beginning, there was a desire to support each other.

The HR Brainstorming Community was formed in March 2021, thanks to the frenzy surrounding employee testing for Covid. This led us to the idea of regular meetings within the HR community to brainstorm about everything that interests us.

It turned out that our platform has something to offer to HR professionals, even though the topic of testing ceased to be current. New members started to join rapidly, and by the fall of 2023, we already had more than 2000 members in our Facebook group and on LinkedIn.

We stick together both online and offline.

In addition to Facebook, where a group chat is very active every day, we regularly meet at joint gatherings. We share know-how among ourselves, we have ambassadors from the ranks of HR experts and for certain topics, experts outside the HR field.

In May 2022, under the leadership of Lenka Sovová, we organized a Job Fair for people from Ukraine fleeing the war. We successfully connected people from Ukraine with employers from the South Moravian region, and the event attracted 1,500 visitors. The initiative was recognized in October 2022 as part of the HR Excellence Awards (HREA).

Our mission is the development and professionalization of HR

In the future, we aim to advance the HR field with our initiatives and enhance the perception of its value within companies. Our goal is to create a secure environment for HR colleagues to share best practices and to organize regular meetings and workshops on topics that we decide through voting.

Lenka Sovová

Founder of the community / Member of the core team
Lenka has spent most of her professional life in the field of HR. With extensive experience, particularly in software companies, she has gradually transitioned into senior roles overseeing all HR processes. In the past, she led several programs in the Czech Republic, including a program assisting individuals with autism spectrum disorders in finding suitable employment. Consequently, Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) topics are close to her heart. She enjoys working with people and for people. This was one of the reasons why, in March 2021, as she likes to say 'by accident,' she founded the HR Brainstorming community, which continues to grow in membership. Lenka contributes as a methodologist at the National Institute of Mental Health on a mental health prevention and support project. She is also involved in the Jsme fér (=It´s only fair) initiative, advocating for equal marriage in the Czech Republic. She enjoys watching or reading good sci-fi/fantasy in her free time, traveling, or exercising. She is also a lifelong fan of the Jára Cimrman Theatre (Czech equivalent of Monty Python comedy) and a great lover of black humor, because 'Dark humor is like a pair of legs, not everyone has it.

Petra Vaňková

Member of the core team
Petra (preferably Péťa) has long focused on education for all age groups, from children to adults. Her career in HR began in the field of job boards, organizing job fairs, and events for the HR community. She is currently fully dedicated to the development and education of employees. 'Who is prepared is not surprised.' With a decreasing number of people in the job market, it is essential to have individuals ready for changes or different positions, and this can be achieved through effective education. Petra has connected her passion for learning with the HR Brainstorming community, where she is a member of the organizational team. Petra has a somewhat unconventional hobby; she loves Italy and everything associated with it, especially the Alfa Romeo brand. In her free time, she organizes events for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts and attends similar events throughout Europe.

Michaela Kašpárková

Member of the core team
Míša has been actively involved in external recruitment for an extended period. She has the most experience in filling middle and top management positions in marketing, commerce, and e-commerce, and recently she has been extensively involved in recruiting positions in the advertising world. For several years, she has been leading small teams and would like to focus on leadership in the future. In external recruitment, she appreciates the diversity, where one day she talks to the business director of an FMCG company, and the next day with a marketing analyst for whom data is crucial and no unnecessary 'fluff.' She values long-term relationships with clients, where, in addition to providing employees, she also guides them through the current job market situation, becoming a partner to the respective company. And because in her work, she needs to stay quite 'grounded' and keep the company she serves 'grounded' as well, in her free time, she enjoys exploring viewpoints and likes to look at the world from a height.

We are a community

HR Brainstorming is not formed just by the most senior HR experts, but by all individuals who care about our field. They invest their hearts into the project, and when it comes down to it, they can come together and contribute something extra. This was also the secret to the success of the campaign on Hithit, which helped to propel our activities further.
